Flushed Away

My sis was is in town this weekend and she really wanted to see "Flushed Away", a hilarious CG film from Aardman (Wallace & Gromit). So we ran (not walked) to our local theater last night and saw it. This is a very funny film with a lot of in jokes (at one point in the start of the film, the lead character "Roddy" who is voiced by Hugh Jackman, is deciding what to wear, an Elvis Suit or Wolverine Costume.) I highly recommend seeing this film, especially if you an Animation  fan  and/or you  have kids.

QotD: My Vox Name

How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?
Submitted by LeendaDLL.

Well I'm a bit of a Batman fan and using that word as a user name is a bit vanilla to me, so I went with his imp villain/nuisance: The Batmite.

Some Halloween Tunes

On this wonderful holiday, here's some Halloween Inspired music for your entertainment, starting with "Fiona Apple" covering "Sally's Song" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Next up is "Muse's" "New Born" that was featured in the (very bloody) film "High Tension". And finally we have "Blue Oyster Cult" with the classic "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" that was in movie "Halloween".

Everyone have fun on this great day, enjoy the music, dress up in strange (or in some cases, Normal) costumes, get lots of candy, and have fun.

Peace.

I Bought My Friend A Phone

Some things in this world you need to make an effort to get, especially if your an adult. One of the most important things (I think) is a phone, especially in this day and age. Hell, one of the first things E.T. did while stranded on our planet was to build a phone.

Well apparently my friend doesn't think so because he has been without one for at least 6 years now. He had one until his brother supposedly ran up the telephone bill (over $200) and refused to pay for it so that ended his service. I can understand if you don't want or can't afford to pay a huge amount of money for a bill you didn't make, but after a while you got to find another way to get a phone, especially after such a long period of time. So out of the kindness of my heart and out of my own pocket, I decided to buy a (pay as you go) cell phone and give it to him. Not for a birthday, xmas, or some silly special occasion, it was just to get him connected to the real world already. I'll tell ya, after 6 years of driving 40 miles to Dallas to hang out with my friend and he would not be home, it gets to you. Now that he has a phone I can contact that fool so hopefully there will be no more long wasted trips.

QotD: My First Flight

Do you remember your first flight? Where did you go? Why?
Submitted by Laurel.

I remember my first flight fairly well. It was with my cousin coming here to Fort Worth to spend a week with our Grandma, which at the time was a big deal because we were two small kids flying with no adult supervison and it was my first ride in an Airplane. At the time I was living in Baytown (small city outside of Houston), I was around 8 or 9 years old and my cousin was a year older than me. The plane we took was a small commuter jet and the flight from Houston to Fort Worth took less than an hour.

I think the most memorable thing about that flight to me was the free "Honey Roasted Peanuts". On that plane ride was the first time I had ever eaten them and I remember that both me and my cousin really liked them so much that we kept asking for more, and the flight attendant kept giving us bags every time we asked.

I Got What I Wanted, So I Won’t Complain: Romo is in, Bledsoe is Out.

COWBOYS LOSE, COWBOYS STINK!

Well, the Cowboys got the beat down by the Giants 36 – 22. Overall Dallas sucked, especially the offensive line. New York's defense pretty much dominated the entire game, we had no chance.

The big news is that Bledsoe finally got benched in the second half, which is what (seemingly) every Cowboy Fan wanted (including myself), and Romo got the start. Yeah, Romo made mistakes, but what first time quarterback doesn't.

So, If the Cowboys suck (and don't improve) from here on out, I won't complain, this is what I wanted.
