Monday Afternoon With Chris Cornell

On this lovely Monday afternoon (It's perfect here in D/FW), I'd thought I would share some Chris Cornell music for your listening pleasure.  First up we got "Yesterday To Tomorrow" from Audioslave's "Out of Exile". The next cut is Johnny Cash's cover of "Rusty Cage" (originally recorded by Soundgarden) from "The Legend of Johnny Cash".

Enjoy.

La Pesadilla Antes De Navidad 3-D

Tonight I went and saw "The Nightmare Before Christmas – 3-D". I'm pretty sure most of you have already seen (and own) this movie, so I will skip the review, but to those of you who have not see this film, do so now, it's a good movie.

I'm ashamed to say it, but I missed the film the first time it was released in theaters, so it was really great that I finally got to see it on the big screen. To watch the movie in 3-D, I received these neat "Buddy Holly" style glasses, got to keep em' to. Obviously the movie was not originally designed for the 3-D format, so it did not "pop out" like most 3-D films do, but it did give the movie a great amount of depth. The one shot that really did stand out in the entire movie is when Jack is walking up the curved hill. That scene will make you go "WOW"! And finally for you "Pixar" fans out there, "Knick Knack" was also presented in 3-D before the feature.

QotD: Weekend Plans

What are your plans for the weekend?

After a 60 hr work week, I pretty much gonna catch up on some sleep and then straighten up a bit. Which feels kinda strange to me because it seems like I've hardly been at home this week, yet there is crap all over the place.

If I can find the time, I'm gonna try to finish a photoshop project and try to catch a showing of "The Nightmare Before Christmas – 3D".

Now if you will excuse me, Im going to pass out now.

QotD: On Podcasts

Do you listen to podcasts?  Are there any you'd recommend?
Inspired by Alex.

Thank goodness for the podcast, especially if you have a dull job with long hours. One can only listen to the same mp3s so many times and lately the local sports radio shows only wanna talk about one thing every day (Terrell Owens). So I thank god this new media is available to a tech-geek like me. Since I listen to so many podcasts, I'll just throw out my current top favorites:

  • photoshop tv – video podcast of tips, tricks, and tutorials for photoshop.
  • tiki bar – a very funny video podcast on "Swingin' bachelors & cocktail babes in a swank pad".
  • geek brief tv – another Dallas based video podcast of tech/gadget news with host Cali Lewis.

Would? – Alice In Chains

One of my favorite Alice In Chains tracks, from their album "Dirt".  I just love the bass line on this song.

Enjoy!

PLAY LOUD!

Do I Have to Smile?

So am I the only one on this planet who is not a "Natural Smiler"? By that I mean that I don't have a smile glued on my face all day long.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way a depressed or sad person, and I'm probably the nicest person (except when I'm an asshole) you'll ever meet. I'm pretty sure I've been this way all of my life. Of course, I do give the "courtesy" smile when I greet someone, or when I make eye contact with a hot babe.

It's just who I am.

QotD: My First Kiss

Tell us about your first kiss.  Who was it with?  How old were you?

My first kiss, it was with a co-worker the morning after she had spent the night. I just rolled up on top of her after we both woke up and kissed her. I think I was 20. The funny thing I remember was when I kissed her goodbye later on that day, I had to stand on a curve or my car bumper to reach her cause she was a lot taller than me.

QotD:Just Like Me, But In 2-D

Which cartoon character best represents you?
Submitted by Know It All.

That's easy, I'm just like Squidward Tentacles from "SpongeBob SquarePants". I'm very happy when I'm doing something creative and fun but I can be quite the grouch when I'm not in the mood to deal with people.

My Pre-Halloween Movie Recommendations

Hello all, the Halloween season is upon us and I thought I'd recommend some flicks that are not necessarily Horror, but are good films to prepare you for the upcoming Spooky Holiday Festivities. Enjoy.

The Crow: A couple is murdered on Devils Night (the night before Halloween). One year later, Eric Draven is resurrected by a crow to seek revenge on the gang that killed him and his fiancee.

Jurassic Park: Genectically Engineered Dinosaurs Go On The Rampage!

Hellboy: During World War II, a baby demon is summoned by the Nazis but is captured and raised by the American Government. Now fully grown, Hellboy fights for good against Monsters and other Paranormal Phenomenons.

Se7en: Two Detectives track down a Serial Killer who bases his crimes on "The Seven Deadly Sins".

La Masacre Del Chainsaw De Tejas: El Principio

I just got back from seeing "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" on this Friday the 13th, the luckiest day of the year. Overall I thought it was ok, the story was decent, had some flaws, but what are you gonna do. It did have a good amount of gore but it wasn't very scary (to me, I was laughing during most of the kills), however my Mother and other relatives were a bit freaked out. It seems like they will be having nightmares tonight. I did like this film a lot more than the 2003 version, but the original the is still the best.

Goodnight
