The Great Russian Weekend!

From spending time at the pool to visiting Chuck E. Cheese, this past weekend with little Russia was an event. I wonder, how much are we spoiling this little lady?

QotD: Overrated.

What is something you consider to be "overrated." (Ed. note: Bonus points if you show it to us!)

The Dallas Cowboys! I hate to do it, but I have no choice but to call out my home team. All the hype, all the talent, all the money, and all the talk, and they still haven't won a single playoff game in over a decade. The fans are tired of it, so It's time to put up or shut up.

Deaf!

My weekend in a nutshell. I got my new phone, the Palm Pre. Thankfully I didn't end up waiting in a line after all. I saw both "The Hangover" which is Hilarious and "Night at the Museum" which is mildly enjoyable. Later on Saturday night I went Deaf by going down to see the Indy Car racing at the Texas Motor Speedway.  Picked up some more yummy Pocky Sticks over at Anime Pop. And finally I went Deaf again tonight by catching a killer show from Girl in a Coma over at the Pontiac Garage in Dallas.

Now I have the pleasure of going into work Monday morning with my ears ringing, not much gas left in my car,  virtually no laundry done, no lunch because I didn't go grocery shopping, and very little sleep. Still, I had a blast this weekend, so it was all worth it. And also my limp is completely gone from pulling my left Calf Muscle a few weeks back.  I'll get more up on my phone and pics from the race and concert up a bit later on. For now, I wish you all a good night.

QotD: Lifestyles of the Rich OR Famous

Would you rather be rich or famous?

I'd rather be set for life with no financial worries and do my own thing with relative comfort and anonymity then to be another one of those jerk-off "reality" celebs.

Well, maybe if I saved the world, then I wouldn't mind being famous.

Compromised!

Somehow my Bank Account was accessed over the weekend. Yesterday while checking my account online, I saw four pending charges, none of which were made by me. Soon after which, I contacted my bank to get this all straitened out. I'm not really sure how this was able to happen, but I assume my Check Card info was stolen, as it's on file on a few sites like Amazon. All charges combined, they only attempted to take less than $100. To my banks credit, they did call me (several hours before I noticed them online) and left a message about these charges on the answering machine.

In other news, my limp is just about gone. So much so in fact, that I returned to the Gym. After a week of not doing nothing but playing video games and um, "online research", I dropped 3lbs, putting me at 197lbs. I did nothing major while I was there. Saturday I just did a quick circuit of my upper body training. And so not to put any weight or strain on my legs, I did all the lifting while sitting on the benches. Today was a fairly easy day. Instead of the usual jogging, I just worked on my abs and back. And I really felt it in my back as I haven't done "Reverse Sit-Ups" in 10 years. Felt good though.

And finally I went to see "Up" in 3-D. As usual, Pixar has not failed me. It was a wonderful film. I DO recommend you see this one if your still a kid at heart and/or are into Animation. Or of course, if you have kids. The Palm Pre, is less than a week away. And gasp, It appears I will have to wait in a line for this phone.

To Bee, Or Not To Bee?

Not to Bee!

Of course I am referring to the 2010 Limited Edition "Bumblebee" Camaro that GM recently announced. And I actually thought about it for a while as I'm a Transformers fan from way back when. And as nice as it would be to drive a around in that version of the car, I'll stick with what I originally wanted – All Black. I figure since I'm gonna gut the car over the years anyways, there is no point in buying a car with parts I'm gonna replace. Not to mention I can and will probably buy the Autobot/Deception emblems online. Next week I'll begin the process of deciding on a dealership. I'll send out an email every Chevy Dealer in the D/FW area and see who offers the best/fair deals and who doesn't.

To Be!

"The Resistance"
-  This is the title for the upcoming 5th album from Muse. I can dig it! "I Told You I Was Freaky" – This is the title to the upcoming 2nd album from Flight of the Conchords. I can really dig that!

Not to Be!

Also, seeing on how there is no Championship or Million Dollar Payday on the line, I've decided not to be in the Summer Soccer League which starts this Monday. I'd just rather let my calf muscle fully recover than to take a chance on getting re-injured in a meaningless game and one-legged for the duration of the Summer. As of now, there is no pain when I walk, but the left calf is still stiff and cant' be fully extend so I still have a limp. At the rate I am healing, I should be walking correctly by next Wednesday.

To Be?

Next Saturday the Palm Pre is released and I'm pretty excited about this. This will be my first foray into the Smart Phone World.  I'm already a Sprint Customer and have my "InvisibleShield" kit pre-ordered, so hopefully I can get my hands on the phone next weekend. But I really don't want to wait in a damn line for a phone. I pray that the reported "shortage of phones" is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get costumers in the doors that day. I do however, appear to have one slight advantage. There are 3 Sprint Stores, 2 Wallmarts, 2 Best Buys, and one Radio Shack all within 10 minutes of me. And depending on how everything looks next Friday, I can probably get family and friends (who also want one)  to hit those multiple stores if needed.
