Never buy cheap shoes.

Before I pass out for the night I thought I'd say that I was mildly disappointed with last nights Season Finale of Heroes. I am looking forward to tomorrow night's playoff game. The Mavericks have the opportunity to go into San Antonio and eliminate the Spurs. Today our company provided an .85 cent lunch for us employees in celebration of the company's Eighty Fifth year anniversary.

I also ran/walked 4 laps around the school track. I think I did more walking than running today. There is still pain in my shins after a bit of sprinting. And my right ankle area was a bit swollen. A quick Google search revealed that I probably have "Shin Spits". And I don't think running in cheap $10 "Payless" shoes helps me out. So I think I'll be investing in some real running shoes next paycheck. Until then I'll try my running in my soccer shoes, as I never felt this pain when I played.

Berny Park S.C. – The Final Game!

First, thanks to my brother Eliseo, Team Captain Clayton Everett, the rest of my teammates of Berny Park S.C., and to my opponents. I had a great time playing Soccer with you all.

The day finally arrived. After two rain delays and several months in the making, the final game of the season was here. And at 3:15pm yesterday, the epic rematch between Berney Park S.C. and Manchester U. still did not happen. Chalk up another forfeit victory to Berny Park because Man U. did not bother to show up, well 4 of there players actually did.

Fortunately the day was not a complete waste. We did end up playing a unsanctioned game with Novus F.C. because there opponents did not show up as well. So we got a volunteer Ref. and our two teams battled it out in a scrimmage game. In the end, Berny Park defeated Novus (for a 3rd straight time this season) by a score of 3-1. So technically we won twice that day.

As for the near future of my Soccer activity, we should (and by that I mean there is a 75% chance) be playing in a Tournament next month in Frisco. There is also a Summer league, but right now I'm 50/50 on playing or not. The games will be on Monday nights instead of Sunday afternoon. Because of my job, that will make it a bit more difficult for me to make the games. We will see I guess.

Again, despite my best efforts during the past few months, my energy and speed were not up to my expectations. Still I can hold my head up high knowing I did give my best efforts. On top of the frequent gym visits, I still am running the school track every other day, so that should help out for next season. I did check my weight tonight, I'm now 200lbs. I have gained 5 pounds since I started playing.

So, at the end of the 09 Spring Season, the final record of Berny Park S.C. was 6-4, good enough for a Second Place finish. What? Second Place!  Well, I'm not 10 years old anymore and we are not little league, so I can say what we all really think, but don't really say out loud, It's not about "having fun", it's about Winning! So here is my thoughts on Second Place finish. Well I can't say it any better than little Tanner Boyle, so I'll let him and the rest of the Bad News Bears speak for me.

QotD: Rockin’ from the grave

Who is the best deceased musician/singer?
Submitted by sarahllr.

The answer to this question is obviously a matter of opinion, but my love goes to the voice of one Layne Thomas Staley. Of all the "Voices" in the world, his is what I can relate to the most. He was blessed with a wonderful talent, but in the end he fell from grace and let his addictions get the better of him.

He has been gone for a little over 7 years. So with the Alice In Chains reformation and upcoming new album, I guess now is the perfect time to really remember him , his voice, and his music one more time before completely moving on to the new days ahead…

Gone, but NEVER forgotten.
