QotD: Road Rage

Honking, tailgating, excessive lane changing… There are so many things that can drive you crazy when you're behind the wheel. So tell us: what's your driving pet peeve?

Driving slow in the fast lane. This can bug me if I'm in a foul mood because if you want to drive in the fast lane, then please drive fast. If not, move over to the next lane so the faster cars can pass.

And please don't "text" on the phone while you drive.

Midnight at the Inwood Theatre – Chocolate

Fri & Sat, February 6 & 7 at Midnight at the Inwood Theatre.

The director of Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior, Prachya Pinkaew, returns with his new protégé, “Jija” Yanin Vismistananda, who was in training for five years for this role. Jija plays Zen, a young autistic girl who grows up next to a Muay Thai boxing studio and is raised on a steady diet of chocolate and marathon viewings of Tony Jaa and Bruce Lee films. Zen’s father, a Japanese gangster, has been driven out of the country by a rival Thai gang, so her mother has been forced to raise her alone. It becomes clear over time that Zen has miraculously absorbed formidable Muay Thai techniques from watching the boxers next door and repeated viewings of martial arts classics. When Zen’s mother is diagnosed with cancer and the cost of treatments prove overwhelming for the family, Zen sets out with her cousin on a violent mission to collect debts from the corrupt gangsters that owe her mother money. Featuring death-defying stunts and a charming newcomer who is sure to blow the minds of martial arts fans everywhere, Chocolate represents Prachya’s proper follow-up to the smash success of Ong-Bak. Feel The Burn.

After a week off, I finally went back to the gym today after work. Did a bit of everything but was more focused on some hard Sprinting, which I don't normally do (because I hate it), but this was suggested that I should do so I don't wear out so fast this Sunday when I'm on the field. The Treadmills were all taken so I got on an Elliptical. After I was done, I was feeling pretty good. All the stiffness that was in my legs was pretty much gone.

As of Monday Feb 2nd, I'm 194lb.

I finally got sick and I played soccer.

It's been a interesting week for me. Last weekend my Sister and Co. came to visit the D/FW area. Only this time she decided to bring with her an infected baby with a Louisiana Swamp Virus. That first night she took Russia to the hospital because she was vomiting. Well over the next 2 days baby Russia gave it to Me, My Mother, J.J. (Brother's Girlfriend), and possibly Gizmo. All four of us vomited at least once, and I can't speak for everyone else, but I was making restroom stops just about every hour for 3 days straight. Which broke my "self proclaimed" streak of never getting sick. I didn't miss work because of that but I did skip the gym for the past week.

Also during last week I decided to join a Soccer Team. This was a bit last minute and I got no practice time before the first game, but my brother asked if I was interested and I thought it would be fun to play again. Our team the Turtles, played (minus my brother and a few others) our first game Saturday morning. This would be the first time I have played an Organized Team Soccer game since 94, which was my last year of High School. How did I do you ask? Terrible I'm afraid to say. And I should have seen this in warm ups. When I attempted to do some free kicks from just outside the Goal Box, I had no power behind them. It was like watching Mr. Burns kick a soccer ball.

I was thinking because I go to the gym just about every day and Run on a somewhat regal basis,I would be able to jump right in a play no problem. Well I found out that there is a big difference in being in "Shape" and being in "Game Shape". I played the Midfield and pushed myself as hard as I could and was winded almost immediately. With half time and a few sub outs I did fit in a few breathers, but by the last 5 minutes of the game my legs and knees said no more as I could barley run. And did I mention that I did not bring any water for myself. But regardless of my pathetic performance, our team does have some talent and we did win 5-3.

So for the first time in a very long time, today my legs are killing me. My left knee was sore at times and trying to go up and down stairs and getting in and out of cars was difficult ( I went to the Auto Show today). Hopefully the pain will be gone by tomorrow evening by the time I get to the Gym and attempt to get myself back into game shape.

Vox Hunt: My Favorite Bushism

As his time in office comes to an end, we'd like to as you to share your favorite "Bushism" from the last eight years

Over the years, George hasn't been that bright or interesting. However, Dave Chappelle as "Black Bush" is Comedy Gold. Here's just a sample, but if you haven't seen the whole comedy routine, do yourself a favor and find the whole skit. It's Hilarious.
