My Desk 08

Here's my current look at my Desk at home. Not much has changed over the years/posts. A few more stickers (I can't get enough of Bettie) and some different PVC figures. I'm looking to replace my Monitor soon because the the power button has gone out.

Work Desk 08

Here's my little corner at work with my own little touch of "Geek". Of course, you have to imagine the lights turned off as we work in the dark. It's fairly nice. The chair is comfortable which is important to me. Some time in the near future I'm supposed to get a better Computer and Tablet to work with.

It Comes To Life!

Seeing on how I got him the day after Halloween, this is a bit of a late post. But did think it was worth mentioning that I finally got a hold of my favorite puppet from the "Puppet Master" series – Blade! Now, I have two minions to do my bidding.

Sadness

As 08 comes to a close, it seems that "this" year I have lost a lot of  people and things I cared about in life. For the most part I am an emotionally strong person. I have shrugged a majority of them and moved on. Very few losses this year have actually taken me aback. Tonight, I feel empty. I got the news that I could loose my Dream, my definition of Beauty, my Inspiration.

"LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bettie Page, one of the most notable models of the 20th century, is hospitalized in intensive care after suffering a heart attack in Los Angeles.

Mark Roesler, Page's agent and attorney, says Friday that the 85-year-old is "critically ill." He says she suffered a heart attack Tuesday and remains hospitalized.

He would not comment further on her condition.

Page is credited with helping set the stage for the sexual revolution of the rebellious 1960s. She attracted national attention with magazine photographs of her sensuous figure in bikinis and lingerie that were tacked up on walls in military barracks, garages and elsewhere"

Gears Be Gone

It finally happened, the Geo Metro I'm driving just gave out as I was driving to work this morning. I was about a mile from work when I heard a "pop". A few moments later I saw my speedometer start to go down as I began to slowdown. It hit me that I was getting no response from the car when I pushed on the gas . The transmission gave out I guess as my car won't move when I finally did stop. Fortunately I was able to coast to my exit and into a service station. From there it was about a 10 minute walk (in the cold, though it was not too bad)  to work. Now I'm gonna have to spend this afternoon looking to get it towed and repaired and I'm pretty sure the total cost of doing will amount to more than the car is worth. I swear, the new Camaro can't get here fast enough.

QotD: Under the Tree

What gifts, big or small, are you hoping to find under your tree this year?
Sponsored by Best Buy.

You know, I was one of those who never seen or heard of this series when it originally aired. But after I had seen the movie in the theater and finally got around to seeing this Series years later on DVD, I just can't get enough of "Firefly". It's just been released in Hi-Def and is now the one thing that I really want.

Layne Staley Biographer Needs Your Help Writing Stories

Source: seattlest.com

Why wasn't Andrea Vece's Layne Staley bio, Itch, Love Stories About Heroin, published this August as planned? Because the "author" decided "there couldn't be a greater tribute…than compiling a book of memories…and publishing it on the date of [Staley's] passing [April 5]." Blabbermouth recaps Vece's curious plan: "The first half…will now feature the original journal writings of the author…[the] second half will be titled "Memory Layne" and will contain stories from fans…as well as her 'experiences with the occult' while writing" Itch. What do Vece's occult experiences have to do with the late Alice in Chains singer? Can anyone publish anything? Ask Vece (or donate your Staley memory) at mediumpress(@)aol.com.
