The 2010 Camaro Will Survive Dispite GM’s Troubles

A story from the Crain sisters, Automotive News and Autoweek, reports that General Motors has cut product development spending for 2009 in an effort to save approximately $1.5 billion next year. Reductions in engineering, design and R&D work on future models has been rumored for the last week, possibly causing the delay (or death) of a few select models. However, the Camaro and Volt haven't been affected by the cuts (no surprise, since they're all but complete), and the new Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Traverse and Cadillac CTS Wagon should hit the market has planned, late next year and early in 2010.

After the story surfaced earlier today, the Detroit News got in on the action and spoke with GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson who said of the AN report, "We think they are probably overplaying this a little bit." We'll see.

4 Days Till Halloween – The Creepshow

A daily reminder of forgotten and old Horror/Suspense Movies.

Actually something different tonight. Some music.

While looking for the old "Creepshow" movie trailer on youtube, I instead stumbled upon a music video entitled "The Garden" by a band called  "The Creepshow". I took a listen and liked it. I can honestly say that I am really, really starting to dig them! I would describe their sound as Rockabilly or Hipster Rock with Horror overtones. Or imagine an slightly evil version of "No Doubt" if they were from the 50's. Very good song and worth sharing with everyone here.

And just released a few days ago, their latest video "Take My Hand".

Black By Popular Demand!

I'm super stoked to get a new car next year now! At the top of my list, no surprise is the upcoming Camaro. What I have never mentioned until now is that the new Challenger is my second choice. However my decision on which new vehicle to get just got a whole lot tougher, and that's not a bad thing at all. At the upcoming SEMA show, Chevrolet shows off "Camaro Black", while Dodge unveils the "Challenger Blacktop" And from the looks of both of these concept renderings, I have a lot to look forward to. All of a sudden the pain that was from the mindless destruction of my car has just ended.

Vox Hunt: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

Show us a picture of something you would miss if it disappeared.

Well, there have been several things I have lost or people that have moved on in my life that I will miss dearly. Well, add another recent loss to the list. Several days ago when I was driving home I noticed that Bar-B-Cutie was closed down. Which sucks for me because they had THE BEST  Baked Potatoes around. Unfortunately the next closet location is in Allen, Texas.

But the question was 'What would you miss if it would disappear?" My answer? Well right now that would have to be Backyard Burgers for the simple fact I love the burgers there (my favorite is the "Hawaiian"). Not to mention that there is only one location around here, and its in Dallas. I haven't been there in a few months so I really do hope they don't go anywhere anytime soon.

Dr Pepper to Make Good on Chinese Democracy Stunt

By Eliot Van Buskirk EmailOctober 23, 2008 | 9:12:32 AMCategories: Bands or Brands?

GunsnrosesSoda manufacturer Dr Pepper promised a free soft drink to everyone in America if Guns N' Roses releases its long-awaited Chinese Democracy album before the end of 2008.

Now that Axl and company have set a release date of November 23, Dr Pepper says it will make good on the offer. Those who want to claim a free soda can go to the Dr. Pepper website on November 23, enter some personal information and get a coupon for one 20-ounce drink that should arrive within the following 4 to 6 weeks. (The offer strangely said no free soda for former GNR members Slash and Buckethead.) The freebies expire in February 2009.

The band didn't know about the promotion until it was announced in March 2008. When he heard about the proposed giveaway, Axl Rose explained: "We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy, as for us, this came totally out of the blue. If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time. And as some of Buckethead's performances are on our album, I'll share my Dr Pepper with him."
