Art of Shunya Yamashita: Mirei-San PVC Statue

Finally, after months of saving up some money and then finding an online store that still had it in stock, my latest "Collectible" arrived at my doorstep yesterday. Coming straight from Japan by way of San Fransisco, here is my "Art of Shunya Yamashita: Mirei-San PVC Statue". This statue of a Sexy Secretary was made by Kotobukiya, designed by Shunya Yamashita, and wonderfully sculpted by Hojyun Otoyama. She also comes with another arm and hair for an alternate look and pose.

QotD: Nom Nom Nom

What's your favorite kind of homemade cookie?  Share the recipe if you have it.

Well, I AM big fan of Chocolate Chip Cookies, especially when they are  freshly made. In a perfect world I would love to make them from scratch every time. However I do have a bit of laziness in me, so thank god there are "break n bake" cookies available. So now I can have my fresh baked cookies and do half the work. So when I do get the craving for them (which is quite often) I bake the "Nestle Toll House Ultimates – Chocolate Chip Lovers". And yes, they taste as good as they sound.

The Resilience of Romo, The Fall of Farve, The Rise of Rogers

COWBOYS WIN, BEST TEAM IN THE NFC!

For those of us who got to see it, the Cowboys vs the Packers was quite the entertaining game. With a final score of 37-27, this win puts Dallas at the top of the NFC, clinches a playoff berth, and possible home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The biggest storyline (for Packers fans) to come out of last nights game may have been the injury to Brett Farve. He got injured early in the second quarter when he failed to see a Cornerback Nate Jones coming on a Blitz. He suffered a bruised right elbow and a separated left shoulder. He did not return for the remainder of the game.

But despite the Packers loosing their starting QB and down 27-10, back up Aaron Rogers came in and played pretty good, leading Green Bay right back into the game. At one point he did bring the team to within 3 points of the Dallas lead. He finished the game with 18/26 passes for 201 yards and one touch down pass.

However Romo once again stepped it up when the game was on the line. In the final quarter of the game he marched the Cowboys down the field for the games final touchdown and field goal to put the game away. Romo finished the game with 19/30 passes for 309 yards, 4 touch down passes, and one interception.

Never Again

Will I do a "Black Friday Door Buster" shopping run. Went to "Conn's" to get an item. Stood in line for about 45 minutes. 30 of the minutes was spent outside in the cold because they would only let 25 customers inside. When I was second from the counter to get the item I wanted, they inform the crowd "Were sold out." The irony is that the last person to get that item was a line jumper who just walked into the store and didn't wait her turn outside with the rest of us suckers. That was a total waste of my time, not to mention that their customer service really sucked. I think for the rest of my life I will continue to do my X-mas shopping online.

Cowboys make history at 10-1; up next: Packers

Star-Telegram Staff Writer

IRVING — It's Packers time.

The Cowboys no longer have to dodge questions about Thursday's showdown against the Green Bay Packers. Not after the 34-3 Thanksgiving victory against the New York Jets that was as much of a yawner as it was a blowout.

The biggest cheer from the 63,315 fans at Texas Stadium was saved for the snow flurries that fell midway through the game.

Otherwise, the game was no contest — as was expected, considering the Jets are now 2-9.

Of the Cowboys' seven previous double-digit victories this season, none was bigger than Thursday's 31-point margin.

But for a Cowboys team that was concerned about getting caught sleeping in a trap game, it not only did what it had to, it made history in the process.

No Cowboys team — including all five Super Bowl title teams — had ever started a season 10-1, until Thursday.

"We made history and we are grateful," receiver Terrell Owens said. "But it doesn't stop here. We are looking to get to Arizona and get that Super Bowl championship."

Now the Cowboys, who are looking to make their first Super Bowl since their 1995 title season, can take the next step in the process.

In other words, it's Packers time.

Next week's showdown will give the winner the inside track to home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs.

The teams are tied for the best record in the NFC and the second-best record in the NFL at 10-1.

"What this game is about is to get back here in January," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "It's a big one. There is a difference between playing in Dallas and playing in Green Bay in January."

It's also a dream come true for Romo, who grew up in Wisconsin pretending to be Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

Now he gets to match plays with his idol, who might be making his final appearance at Texas Stadium. The future Hall of Fame quarterback might retire at the end of the season.

The Cowboys made short work of the Jets in a game that was never in question.

Cornerback Terence Newman stepped in front of Jerricho Cotchery to intercept a Kellen Clemens pass, returning it 50 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-0 in the second quarter.

It was Newman's first NFL interception return for a touchdown.

It was simply that kind of day for the Cowboys' maligned defense, which didn't allow an offensive touchdown for only the second time all season while recording season bests in yards allowed, rushing yards, first downs and third-down conversion percentage.

The Cowboys stuffed the Jets' running game, holding Thomas Jones to 40 yards on 17 carries. Clemens completed 12 of 27 passes for 142 yards. He was sacked three times, twice by linebacker Greg Ellis and once by defensive end Chris Canty.

Jerry Jones went overboard, calling it the best defensive performance since he purchased the Cowboys in 1989. But it was satisfying to the Cowboys.

"Today everyone was stepping up," linebacker Bradie James said.

The stellar defensive effort was needed because the Cowboys' offense lacked its normal explosiveness. Romo threw two touchdown passes, tying Danny White's club record of 29 set in 1983.

But he passed for just 195 yards, marking just the third time in 11 games he was held under 200 yards passing.

Blame a finger injury he suffered in the second quarter that prevented Romo from squeezing the ball the rest of the game. He decided to take short throws and not chance a game-turning turnover. He has seven days to get ready for the Favre showdown.

Owens caught six passes for 65 yards and extended his streak of games with at least one touchdown to six.

In the end, all that mattered was another Cowboys victory so they can officially turn their attention to Thursday's showdown.

It's Packers time.

COWBOYS 34, JETS 3
