The Super Bowl is Coming To North Texas in 2011

With the embarrassing crash of all of the area sports teams (Cowboys, Mavs, and Stars all exit early in the playoffs, and the Rangers just plain stink) this year, the only good news we have had here lately is the Dirk MVP. But now my fellow North Texicans, I can tell you now that you should start saving your money. The Wrestlemania of Football, The Super Bowl is coming to Arlington in 2011.

The new Stadium is not even finished yet (currently scheduled for a 2009 debut) but the NFL owners have selected the D/FW area to host the Championship game in 4 years. We fulfilled (many of) the NFL's requirements that were needed. A first class Golf Course (what does golf have to do with football) in the area, 10,000 Rental Cars, 90,000 Hotel Rooms, 11,000 Luxury Hotel Rooms, 38,000 area Restaurants, and permission for surrounding bars and restaurants to serve alcohol until 4 a.m. after the game (no, but the NFL is free to petition the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission).

The big concern of this deal so far, Arlington is the largest city in the country without public transportation. And anyone who has been to a Ranger game can tell you, the traffic in that area sucks.

QotD: *snicker*

What words make you giggle (no matter how old you are)?
Submitted by Margurette.

This question really only applies when my brother is around.  When we are together we usually turn normal phrases into dirty phrases. For example, when a family members says "That was big.", one of us will usually say "That's what she said". Then we proceed to giggle like Beavis and Butthead.

How many times do you usually re-edit posts? What is the most common reason for doing so?

I change my some of my posts more times than I can count. I'm not that good of a writer so I'm always changing or correcting my posts.

Kittie – Live @ Fat Daddys in Lewisville Texas

So here are the pictures and videos from the Kittie show I went to last Saturday. This is now the fourth time I have been to their show and the second time I have seen them this year. Their recent stop to the D/FW area brought them to Lewisville, TX. The venue they played: Fat Daddy's.

Now, I never like to post negative things about people or places, but that place was a dump. The stage looked like it was going to fall apart any second. And because it was so hot in there and everyone was crowded right on one another that by the time Kittie hit the stage, it smelled like warm piss. As much as I would love to see them play a bigger and better venue, that is the sacrifice that I'd gladly make to get up close to the band while they play.

As for the show itself,  Walls of Jericho kicked the hell out of me, Candace is such a little ball of energy.  And true to form, Kittie rocked the house and laid waste to Lewisville. But unlike last time I didn't get to be a groupie and say hi to the band (I don't think I will ever beat you Ina). As for the other bands, they were ok at best. One of them really sucked.

The lesson I learned from the last show I went to is that this time I saved all my memory for Kittie and not waste it on the other bands, but I did make sure to get one of Candace (Walls of Jericho) and myself after the show as I didn't get one of her the last time she was in town. This time I did get a lot more shots of the girls, but a lot of them came out blurry because I still have not read the manual to my camera on how to take "Action Shots".

And finally a few videos from the show. Again you'll have to excuse the suck ass sound quality (anyone out there know how to fix/enhance sound contact me) and shaky camera work, after all it's hard to rock out and hold a camera at the same time.

Vox Hunt: My Favorite Soundtrack

Audio: Show us your favorite movie soundtrack.
Submitted by miyagawa

Well I suppose I could put Star Wars or Batman, but my favorite soundtrack at the moment is from 28 Days Later. With my recent 28 Days re-visiting, I've went and acquired the soundtrack to the film. And what a nice listen this is. Who would have thought a movie about a zombie apocalypse would have such a pleasant soundtrack. If you happen to be a fan of Alt/Indie Rock and Classical, give these songs a listen. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the unique sounds of the end of the world.
