It's raining again, thats 4 days in a row now. But today was special because it never got dark when it rained, the sun was shining the whole time along with a soft cool breeze. It was very nice.
"Hello friend –
Thank you for accepting this gift. Included you will find the will to dance & the song ERA VULGARIS. It was pulled from the new album (of the same name) so that it could be to you and become an example of how we think "from now on" should be. As in – We do for you, you do for us.
So to start this relationship off, we have done for you. Now we ask this in return. Share this with friends you think we (you & us) would enjoy. Upload it and spray it like time released graffitti (sic) on the websites of places it does not belong.

Why couldn't this event be at the nerd conventions here in D/FW?
For the past few days it has been storming here in D/FW, (as a matter of fact it is raining as I am typing this entry) and strangely it has only been rain at night. Here is a clip I shot a few days ago in the middle of the night (I'd say 1:00 in the morning). I gotta say it's my favorite video that I have shot to date. It's basically just the lightning flashing outside my window, but as simple as that sounds it's looks kinda creepy and is best viewed when you are alone in the dark. There is a point near the end where you can actually see the lighting bolt strike across the window.
So I'm preparing to see 28 Weeks Later by revisiting the original movie 28 Days Later. Besides re-watching the film this Thursday night (fans of this film should also note that a Limited Edition DVD for Region 1 was announced for a May 1st release but did not come out on that date), I've been looking at what the first cast have been up to since they are not in the sequel. For the most part they have all gone on to do other films. Cilian Murphy (Jim) has been in Cold Mountain, The Girl with The Pearl Earing, Red Eye, and Batman Begins. Naomie Harris (Selena) has been in Miami Vice and both of the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. Bredan Gleason (Frank) has been in Gangs of New York and Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire & Phoenix. But the biggest surprise is that Megan Burns (Hannah) has all but stopped acting and is now trying her hand at a music career.
She now has gone to the Goth side and become Betty Curse. Yet her music doesn't seem to match her looks as the sound of her music from her album Here Lies Betty Curse is a bit on the pop-rock side than anything else. After listing to the whole album, it's not as heavy as I would like it to be, but has grown on me and is an enjoyable listen if you like the sound of 80's pop rock. Of all the songs on her album, here are the two that stood out for me, Beautiful Together and Who Loves the Sun. Enjoy.

So I finally got to see Spiderman 3 last night and I can say I wasn't disappointed. Was it the best Spider-Man film? In my opinion, No. But it was very entertaining none the less. It had a lot of action, but the biggest weakness of Spider-Man 3 was too much plot with very little time. This film could have easily been split into two parts for better story telling.
(Minor Spoilers)
For the most part I tried to stay away from film reviews until I saw it for myself but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't help hearing the whining of the so called fanboys. The biggest complaint, the fact that the Sandman killed Uncle Ben. And to a lesser extent, the origin of Venom. Seeing how the "Secret Wars" can't be told much less filmed, it's understandable why his film origin is drastically different. But I gotta mention the Cameo's from both Stan Lee and Bruce Campbell. Campbell was so funny in small role and Lee had the single greatest line in all of fanboy history.
Spider-Man 3 continues from where the 2nd film left off, Peter (Tobey Maguire) is now in a full fledged romantic relationship with Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). Harry Osborn (James Franco) is still hell bent on revenge for his fathers Death. We have Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church) on the run from the law where he stumbles into a fusion machine turning him into the Sandman. Also introduced in this movie was Eddie Brock Jr. (Topher Grace) as a rival photographer for Peter. Unfortunately his character got the short end of the stick with Eddie in only a handful of scenes and Venom in the last 5 minutes of the movie. His story should of started here and ended in the next film.
As I had already previously mentioned, I did enjoy Spider-Man 3. It is far from perfect with a weak (or maybe too ambitious depending on your point of view) story but it was super charged with plenty of action. And I was satisfied with how the overall storyline was wrapped up in this film and I can't wait to see what direction they will take this franchise to next.
With the obvious success of this film Sony has already announced another Spider-Man Film is in the works and up to 4 more will be made. The big question now is if Raimi, Maguire, and Dunst will return. And the villain list is still strong with Mysterio, Rhino, Electro, Carnage, Hobgoblin, and my personal pick, Black Cat.
Have you ever been ripped off? What happened?
Submitted by Trudie.
Yep, I've been ripped off a few times in my life. I think the first thing incident I'd mention would be my copy of "Wolverine #1" being stolen when I was a kid, although nowadays it doesn't really bother me anymore. But the ripoff that really upset me was having my car windows broken and my CD player getting stolen, Twice!
The first time was in Dallas at a movie theater while my friend and I were seeing "Men In Black II". Even though I was parked near the front of the theater, they still had the balls to bust my window and cut the wire to my alarm. Not only did they steal my CD player, but they took my favorite bat (I go to the Put-Put batting cages).
The second time happened about 2 years later when I had my car parked in front of my parents house in the street and not in the drive way. At the time, there was a house being built right next door as well as around the neighborhood, so most likely it was one of the workers that were around. Again they busted my window but they only manged to steal the head of the CD player, I guess they figured the car alarm would alert someone, but that didn't do any good because it didn't even wake me up.
Show us something covered in stickers.
My little corner of the Universe. As you can see I enjoy covering my desk with boobies stickers. I like the geek decals but I can't seem to get enough of Bettie Page.
The shot to the right is my desk uncovered and the one below is my desk with my keyboard and tablet.
