The Lost & Found

There is so much to do with so little time. Who am I kidding, I have all of the time in the world, I just like to mast, I mean procrastinate (I'm an "artist", its what we do). I got 3 DVD reviews I need to finish, but most of my time has been spent on my V-Day Cards, which I want to finish by next Monday. Artistically I have the concepts I like down, now I just need to get there emotionally which means a lot of Alice In Chains playing in the background and reliving all the fond memories of all those bitches who broke my heart. Hopefully the cards won't suck too bad that I'll decide to share them with you. I really do want the world to see them, but the one thing about me that I'd really hate to admit is that I am very, very protective of my artwork, almost to a fault. I set my standards way too high which is why I hardly ever like the way they turn out and I never feel it's truly finished and is the main reason why I have not shared any of them to date.

On a side note, I got a nice surprise today. I'll start this tale by telling you that had I originally bought this item (Ignis) on ebay well over a month ago. After 2 weeks of waiting the figure never shows up. So I finally contacted the seller and he told me he mailed it the day after I had paid for it so the item was apparently lost in transit. Thankfully it was no big deal, he just cancelled the ebay sale and gave me a full refund. Now fast forward to last Sunday, I get an email from him saying it was back on its way, re-opened the transaction on ebay (even gave me positve feedback) but never mentioned that I needed to pay for it a second time, all of which seemed a bit odd. To my disbelief, this afternoon it shows up on my doorstep. In the end I thought it was really cool of the seller to go out of his way to see that I got my toy Limited Edition Collectible.

Good Bye Wonder Woman, So Long Flash.

More proof that Monkeys are running Hollywood.

Yesterday two potential movie franchises have seemingly gone into developmental hell as both Joss Whedon (Wonder Woman) and David Goyer (The Flash) have both been forced from left their respective projects.

From Joss Whedon's blog:

You (hopefully) heard it here first: I'm no longer slated to make Wonder Woman. What? But how? My chest… so tight! Okay, stay calm and I'll explain as best I can. It's pretty complicated, so bear with me. I had a take on the film that, well, nobody liked. Hey, not that complicated.

Let me stress first that everybody at the studio and Silver Pictures were cool and professional. We just saw different movies, and at the price range this kind of movie hangs in, that's never gonna work. Non-sympatico. It happens all the time. I don't think any of us expected it to this time, but it did. Everybody knows how long I was taking, what a struggle that script was, and though I felt good about what I was coming up with, it was never gonna be a simple slam-dunk. I like to think it rolled around the rim a little bit, but others may have differing views.

The worst thing that can happen in this scenario is that the studio just keeps hammering out changes and the writer falls into a horrible limbo of development. These guys had the clarity and grace to skip that part. So I'm a free man.

Well, sorta. There is that "Goners" movie I can finally finish polishing, and plenty of other things in the hopper I've wanted to pursue. I'm as relieved as I am disappointed, and both of those things lead to drink, so that's a plus. Truly, you may be hearing some interesting things brewing in the coming months. But all potential jets therein will be visible.

But most importantly, I never have to answer THAT question again!!!! And you don't have to link to every rumor site! Finally and forever: I never had an actress picked out, or even a consistant front-runner. I didn't have time to waste on casting when I was so busy air-balling on the script. (No! Rim! There was rim!) That's the greatest relief of all. I can do interviews again!

Thanks for your time. You are the people who make the world go 'round. Or, no, science does that.

-j.

From David Goyer's blog:

Goyer Flash R.I.P.

Well, I've been waiting a few months to relate this news — but I am sad to say that my version of The Flash is dead at WB. The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film. I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned it. I threw my heart into it and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction. I expect you'll hear of some new developments on that front shortly.

But in happier news, I'll soon be able to report on what I've been doing INSTEAD of The Flash. Stay tuned.

QotD: Next On My Itinerary

What's the next country you want to visit?
Submitted by Schomer.

There are many countries I'd like to visit but at the top of my list I'd go to the part of the world I haven't been to, Asia. That would include Japan, China, & Thailand.
