This Morning in D/FW..

..it snowed, which doesn't happen that often here. And it was the perfect type of snow.. nice and soft. Didn't stick or freeze up the roads..

It Can’t Rain All Of The Time.

Well apparently it does. I don't think there has been a dry day here in D/FW in about a week.

D/FW to Shreveport

Since I left San Antonio yesterday, I still have not slept and it has been well over 30 hours now.

After the Rain Left…

When the rain started to break yesterday, a Rainbow appeared in the sky. It was quite a sight because the sky was so dark in the east and so bright in the west.

Storms Gone Wild

It was storming like a mother this afternoon in D/FW. I had my head phones on and I could still hear the Thunder. When I looked out of the window (what it looks like on a normal afternoon) when i went to eat, I couldn't even see the Dallas sky line, the storm was that thick.

Oh yeah, when I was driving through Irving on my way to Dallas, I saw the Girls Gone Wild bus parked in front of an IHOP.  If only I didn't have some where to be this afternoon I may have seen some Boobies.

The Super Bowl is Coming To North Texas in 2011

With the embarrassing crash of all of the area sports teams (Cowboys, Mavs, and Stars all exit early in the playoffs, and the Rangers just plain stink) this year, the only good news we have had here lately is the Dirk MVP. But now my fellow North Texicans, I can tell you now that you should start saving your money. The Wrestlemania of Football, The Super Bowl is coming to Arlington in 2011.

The new Stadium is not even finished yet (currently scheduled for a 2009 debut) but the NFL owners have selected the D/FW area to host the Championship game in 4 years. We fulfilled (many of) the NFL's requirements that were needed. A first class Golf Course (what does golf have to do with football) in the area, 10,000 Rental Cars, 90,000 Hotel Rooms, 11,000 Luxury Hotel Rooms, 38,000 area Restaurants, and permission for surrounding bars and restaurants to serve alcohol until 4 a.m. after the game (no, but the NFL is free to petition the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission).

The big concern of this deal so far, Arlington is the largest city in the country without public transportation. And anyone who has been to a Ranger game can tell you, the traffic in that area sucks.

Seattle, Texas

It's raining again, thats 4 days in a row now. But today was special because it never got dark when it rained, the sun was shining the whole time along with a soft cool breeze. It was very nice.

Amityville Horror, Eat Your Heart Out

For the past few days it has been storming here in D/FW, (as a matter of fact it is raining as I am typing this entry) and strangely it has only been rain at night. Here is a clip I shot a few days ago in the middle of the night (I'd say 1:00 in the morning). I gotta say it's my favorite video that I have shot to date. It's basically just the lightning flashing outside my window, but as simple as that sounds it's looks kinda creepy and is best viewed when you are alone in the dark. There is a point near the end where you can actually see the lighting bolt strike across the window.

Here We Go Again….

It's really coming down here in D/FW. I just saw a big flash followed by a loud BOOM 2 seconds later. Personally I kinda like this gloomy weather. That is until the Floods begin, the Hail falls, and the Tornado warnings start, which they have. Thank god I don't live in a Trailer (anymore).

Crazy Texas Weather

When I took the dogs for a walk this evening, I could see the dark storm clouds coming from the west. I had some lucky timing today (Friday 13th) because it wasn't even 1 minute after I had made it home from walking the dogs that it began to Hail. On average they were golf ball size, they probably wouldn't have hurt me (I'm unbreakable), but they would have most likely hurt the dogs had we'd still been out. In the mad dash to get my car covered I failed to capture the storm with my camera, fortunately it only lasted about 5 minutes in my neck of the woods. It was in the east that had it the worst, they had a Tornado hit. And about 30 minutes after that, the sun was shining like it never happened.

While I was in the back looking around, Gizmo tagged along.
