Dirk Nowitzki is the MVP

A nice conclusion to great regular season (the playoffs didn't happen), Dirk Nowitzki was officially awarded the MVP trophy by NBA Commissioner David Stern in Dallas yesterday. Dirk is the first European (he is from Germany) and Dallas Maverick to win the award. In his ninth season, Dirk lead the Mavericks to the franchise's best regular season record of 67-13. Nowitzki averaged 24.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and a career-high 3.4 assists. The 7-footer was the only NBA player to shoot at least 50 percent from the field (.502), 40 percent from the arc (.416) and 90 percent from the line (.904)

MVP?

The rumors are all over the place, it appears that our Dirk Nowitzki will be named the new NBA MVP. If this turns out to be true, I think this award will have a bittersweet taste. Yes we had a great regular season but we failed to carry that success in the post season for on of the greatest collapses of all time.

My Favorite German

My Step Father scored some Mavs tickets again, this time it was "Dallas vs. Portland". As usual the "Arena In Downtown Dallas" was Electrifying, but the game itself was a bit on the boring side because Portland, in a word "Sucks". That team basically has only one good player so you could imagine this game was a One Sided Texas Ass Kicking. Unlike the last game we saw (vs.Toronto Jr. High), my favorite player (and in my opinion the NBA MVP) Dirk Nowitzki played most of the game.

My picture taking also really sucked this time around as 75% percent of the photos I took didn't come out because either they were blurry and/or out of focus. I guess I'm gonna actually read the manual for my camera so I take some good action shots during the next game I go to.

MVP
