…to the Top.The top floor at work I mean. Not only that, but I am no longer sitting in a small dark room at a table/desk. I'm now in large dark room at a table/desk in a 2×3 cubicle.
Although the group I'm part of moved last Friday, it wasn't until today that we were truly settled in. The problem was that this new area was approximately 8 times the size of the old "Photo Studio", however myself and two other co-workers were still crammed together like there was no room to spare. Truth was that there was a lot of wasted space. No one but the photographer was satisfied with the layout.
The former "Studio" was an average sized room shared by 4 people. This new one is essentially 2 large rooms. One room is exclusively for the Photographer, which is an enclosed area. We like this because we no longer have to deal with the constant light flashes of the camera. The other room is for us three. The original layout had two cubicles on the back wall, one for the Photo Assistant, and the other slightly larger one was shared by myself and the Lead Re-toucher.The entire middle right side wall was to be used for one computer (our time card). And the front right corner has a vacant cubicle is for a (eventual) Supervisor.
Long story short, after a few days of bitching and moaning from us, the new layout has the P.A. and the Lead Re-toucher in the two rear cubicles and the right center wall was was re-utilized for two more cubicles, one of which I am currently located in. So now we all have our own space. I'll try get a few photos of my new "Work Space" up this weekend. Not much to look at really. Just a desk, chair, Mac, and a small Wacom tablet. Although "Death Note" fans may get a kick out of it.
